My name is
Angie Gill and I am a 37 year old, happily married, mother of three.
I am the
sole designer at Gilly Gals. All of the work on not only my dolls, but this site ad well,
is done solely by myself. I have been creating my one of a kind genie and belly dance
designs for 10 years come Feb 1st, 2009! I pride myself in creating extremely high quality one of a
kind dolls for the discriminating collector. I am very proud so say that my Genies and
Belly Dancers are the very best on the market today, Bar None!! I am sure you will see
many like mine, but I can say in confidence that mine are THE original and the very best
in not only quality, but design as well as pesentation, out as far as OOAK Genies and Belly Dancers are
concerned. My company signature slogan of "Often Imitated, Never Duplicated" simply
says it all. That is my promise to you. My dolls are known world wide for the extreme detail work
and attention to authenticity that I put into them. I have no formal education in the
arts, as I am a self taught artist. I create what I like and what is pleasing to
my eye in hopes that others will view it in the same manner. Creating is apart
of my being. It is a passion in my heart that does not let me rest. I keep a
notebook beside my bed so that when I have an idea before falling to sleep, I
can jot it down. My creations now reside in locations as far away as
Hong Kong, Italy, France and Holland.
Nearly all
of the fabrics, charms and findings that I use on my 11 1/2" dolls come from
locations that are in theme with the dolls themselves. My fabrics mostly come
from Bali and Bangalore. With beads and findings coming from places like Bom Bay and Egypt!
I try to use tiny jewelry Iraqi coins when I can get them. Many of my creations have genuine semi precious stones on them as well.
As with all true One of a Kind dolls, my works have full facial repaints, restyled hair
and costume designs that you will not see from any other artist. I am a firm believer that
fine art is based on truly original
work and not a watered down version of what another
artist has already done. No one is interested in seeing yesterdays news, right?
